Republicans from around the Corpus Christi and Nueces County area showed their support Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020 for President Donald Trump as he prepares for what is expected to be one of the most bitter transitions of power in the nation’s history.
The rally was held in the parking lot of an abandoned shopping mall in Corpus Christi, Texas. And was attended by a group of a few hundred people. The rally was a three-part event that included a “Trump Train” where supporters line up and drive around with their flags and other insignia, a prayer vigil and general rally.
My name is Matt Pierce. I am a visual journalist, reporter and photographer based in Texas. My career has taken me around the world and I have covered everything from political corruption, civil unrest, violence, natural disasters and nearly every type of story in between. At the heart of it I focus on people and how these things impact their lives.
You have likely seen my work on places like the BBC, AccuWeather, The Weather Channel, Spectrum News, NewsNation, CNN, Fox and Sky News. I also partner with local news outlets to help tell their stories or fill gaps with their coverage needs. My job is taking consumers of news to the front of the story.
Oftentimes the hardest part of the job is getting access to people and places. By connecting with people and relating to them, I am often able to gain access to places the other journalists just can’t. My extensive network of high-level sources and untraditional methods are often key to making that access happen. It is both an honor and a privilege that I do not take lightly and I cherish their trust and loyalty.
Another thing I am very honored to have is the loyalty of the various viewers, readers, news managers, and content managers that give me the opportunity to tell their stories. Without them none of this works.
Join me as I tell the stories of the world around us. Put me and my skills to work for you and your newsroom. Together, we will take them to the story—wherever it might be.
