Algorithmic Suppression and Cultural Moderation

This paper argues that algorithms and media systems have turned originality into a liability. Platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok reward imitation, safe repetition, and “authenticity” that is only an illusion. Using theories from Bandura, Gerbner, Zajonc, and Baudrillard, I connect social learning, media exposure, repetition, and simulacra to show how creativity is curated and suppressed.
